Alaina was a part of the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association's Children's Group. Alaina first went to Nashville when she was 12 years old. The bar she performed in was local on Broadway, such as Tootsie's. Alaina is the 2009 winner of Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park's WinniSTAR young talent competition. Alaina began singing after the death of her sister Holly Witherow who had been diagnosed with a tumor in the brain, inspired her. The first position she held was with CiC Pizza. She graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe School, Fort Oglethorpe Georgia.
