Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as from the media. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded for an advertisement of John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry shared a tweet that Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music for a love rather than a profession. Her parents advised her to compose. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as her main influences. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mom suggested they might help others not gain acclaim for her work but to make those around them see their own importance and how they impact the world. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started making music when she was 9 years old. Her family didn't know until the age of fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. The singer says that she simply likes writing songs. She claims that music is her preferred method to feel anything.
